Using the Lord’s Prayer below, sum up in your own words what these words mean. You need to state what you think they mean and what relevance they have to the Christian Community (This should be at least 200 words and can be completed in a Word Document and then cut and copied into the comment section. Also remember that I have to approve you comment and will read it before it goes up, so make sure everything your write is appropriate).
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

I think our lord’s prayer is…..
-Our Father, who art in Heaven- Means that God is our father, even though he lives in heaven.
- Hallowed be thy name- We are worshipping him.
It asks for God to provide for us- Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
We ask to be forgiven of our sins and forgive those who betray or sin against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil- asking God to help us through tough times and times that we may turn our back on him.

I think that the words in ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ are trying to say that:
“Our Father Who Art In Heaven,” means Our Father who is in Heaven.
“Hallowed Be Thy Name,” I honour your name.
“Thy Kingdom Come,” means Your Kingdom Is My Kingdom.
“Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,” means my life is great, on earth as it is in Heaven. Today give us our needed food.
“And forgive us our trespasses,” means forgive us our sins.
“As we forgive those who trespass against us,” as we forgive us who have sinned against us.
“And lead us not into temptation,” means do not lead us to sin.
“But deliver us from evil. Amen,” means may we not be evil.
This means to the Catholic faith to me that we must forgive people who sin against us and get our sins forgiven as well.
It also means to our faith that we have to be thankful for what Jesus has done for. He died on the cross on Good Friday.
We believe that Jesus has gone to heaven, after being crucified.

This is my version of the Lord’s Prayer.
Our father who is in heaven,
Your name is sacred,
Your kingdom will come,
Your will shall be done, on earth as it is on heaven.
Give us today our daily food.
And forgive our sins.
As we forgive those who sinned against us.
And lead us not into Desire.
But Keep us away from evil
Amen
The prayer is saying that if you worship God, you will live happily and free of evil. It means that God will forgive you from your sins, and he will supply you with the necessities needed to live. It is special to the catholic faith because it is saying what happens if you worship God.

I think that this prayer means a lot to our Christian faith, I think that this shows us who, how ad what the lord did to help us to be come one as Christians. ‘Our father who art in heaven’ is the 1st line of the prayer and I think this means that god is like a father to us he acts like a dad and we try to follow in his footsteps to be a great leader and that now he rests in heaven and looks over us. ‘Hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven’. I think this means he shall be hidden from us but that we should still try and live a life on earth as it is in heaven. ’Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us’. I think this means give us our daily Eucharist and forgive us for any sins we have committed as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. ‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen’. This is saying do not be tempted to sin against the lord and to resist all evil amen ☺

The Our Father is the most important document in Christian history and means to me that holy trinity is in heaven and is looking over us and they has so many names. They’re kingdom and community will come back into our world. They’re jobs will be done on earth as the world will be like heaven. To give us a great day on earth and give our daily time with the trinity. To Foregive us for all our mistakes and to forgive those who have done something bad to us and to not go to the bad ways like the devil and not to be near the ways of the devil. This also might mean to the catholic community that the holy trinity is always with us and always forgives us for what we have done and protects from the devil and all things that are bad and may harm us. And that the trinity is a sacred thing and is always there

I think that the lords pray is say that the new kingdom will come on earth just like it is in heaven and that the lord will for give our trespassers as long as we forgive the people that trespass against us so that we all will be free of sin. I think that when the pray says that Jesus will give up his body and blood for us. When the pray says “hello be thy name” it is the most sacred part of the mass. The pray is asking our father in heaven to help us by forgiving our sins and the people around us that we know and don’t know like our neighbours our people from across the street that we have never meet before. The lords pray is also asking god to keep the evil from us by saying “deliver us from evil”, the pray is a pray that is asking gods to help us i all sorts of things. The catholic faith says this at every mass and in a sign in the church. The Catholic Church has this pray and many other prays in a mass and some are more similar then others.

‘God, who lives in heaven
Your name is Holy
Your kingdom will come to us
If we carry out your will here on earth, just as it is in heaven. May we receive your holy bread right on this day, even if we have sinned. And if we have sinned, we ask your forgiveness. Help us to forgive others that have done us wrong. Help us not to be tempted by things that may test our faith with you. And last of all, save us from all evil.’ That is what I think the Lord’s prayer means. It is basically a prayer that shows us the types of things we need to ask God for, such as being ‘delivered from evil’ and ‘lead us not into temptation’. The Lord’s Prayer relates to the types of things that would be in special intentions, or that you would light a candle for at church. It is a prayer that we could not put into better words ourselves, and is a prayer that is common and well-known to Catholics.

The Lord’s Prayer
What does this mean?
Our Father, ( we honor you father )
Who art in heaven, ( who is in heaven )
Hallowed be Thy Name. ( you are so Holy )
Thy Kingdom come. ( up in heaven )
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. ( the ways of heaven are done on earth )
Give us this day our daily bread. ( we will honor your offerings )
And forgive us our trespasses, ( please forgive us for our sins )
as we forgive those who trespass against us. ( we forgive bad people )
And lead us not into temptation, ( please don’t tempt us )
but deliver us from evil. ( but keep away evil )
Amen. ( thank you )
Relevance to the Christian community?
It concerns with God, which is what the Christian community is all about. We should honor this prayer as it refers to God, this prayer explains our happiness for God and we accept everything he does. The Lord’s prayer is said to repel sins, and honor the trinity. This prayer is used in mass, liturgical activities and even to say before dinner, or going to bed.

I think that the Our Father, The Lord’s prayer has great meaning and if you break it down, you can see the real meaning to it.
I believe that the prayer means….
Our Father Who art in Heaven- God you are our Father up in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name- We Honour you’re name as holy.
Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven- Making our world like it Like Heaven, Establishing God’s kingdom on Earth and Being good Catholics.
Give us this day, our daily bread- On this day we receive The Eucharist as part of the Catholic church and Community.
And forgive us our trespasses- Lord please forgive our sins
As we forgive those who trespass against us- Just how we forgive people who do wrong to us and we can be friends with them once again.
And lead us not to temptation but deliver us from evil- Lead us away from the tempation of the Devil and keep s close to you our God.
This prayer is important to the Catholic Church because it is a small guideline of our faith, It gives praise to The Lord for Everything he has done for us.

I believe that the Lords Prayer means: -Our Father Who Art In Heaven- means our father which lives in heaven. -Hallowed Be Thy Name- This name is Holy, and we worship it.-Thy Kingdom Come- means that your kingdom is also my kingdom. The next part: “Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,” means that life is good, and give us our body of christ. -And forgive us our trespasses- means that we are asking for our sins to be forgiven. -As we forgive those who trespass against us- just like we forgive the people who sin against us. The part: -lead us not into temptation- means not to tempt us to sin and do bad things. -But deliver us from evil- means deliver us from evil, safe us from evilness.
This prayer is very important to the Catholic faith, as Jesus said this, and it has been quoted a lot of times.

The our father is a great prayer which describes what Jesus thinks is a good life. In the prayer the line Our father who art in heaven is saying that he is watching down on us and judging how we are living our lives. The line hallowed be thy name means we honour his name as holy.
Thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven says that he wants our world to be the same as heaven in a way. It also suggests that life in the world should be the same as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread means that Jesus will supply us with everything that we need to live in our everyday lives. Forgive us our trespasses and forgive those who trespass against means that we want to be forgiven because we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil means that we should not be tempted by the things that we want and think about the things that we need and the things that others need and we should help them and give things to them.
I think that this prayer to our Christian faith sets us a guideline of how we should live our life.

The Lords prayer,
The Lord’s Prayer is meant for the Lord. “Our Father, who art in heaven” means that Lord is in heaven. “Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom comes” means that the Lords name is almighty and that the kingdom of the Lord will come.
“Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” This means that the earth will be as peaceful as heaven. It then tells us that when we are given this bread the lord will forgive our trespasses. This is because we forgive others sins and trespasses. “And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil”. This means to not let us give into temptation and to make us turn away from evil.
This is what I believe this prayer means. It is a sacred prayer, which tells us about the Lord. Prayer is a form of worship and this is one way of worshiping our Lord Jesus. It is called the Lords prayer because it is about the Lord and directed to him.

I think the Our Father means…
Our Father, Who art in heaven.
This is referring to God, who lives and reigns in heaven.
Hallowed by thy name.
To me this means that God’s name should by honoured and respected, as it is sacred and holy.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.
This means that we should all try to be the best we can and to try to live out our lives like God wants us to. The second part of the sentence also says that we pray for the hope that God’s wishes may be done on our Earth, just like the way it is carried out in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
That God will provide for our every need and if we place our trust in God we shall never really need anything ever again.
And forgive us our trespasses
We pray for God’s forgiveness as we are only human and sin against our Father.
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
We do to another how we want to be treated.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
We pray that we shall remain ever faithful to our God and be able to resist all temptation and evil.
To the Catholic Church this prayer is what we believe God does for us and we praise and worship him for it.

I think that the first line means: He is the ruler in heaven I think that the second line means: That he is in the kingdom and what ever is done on earth is also done in heaven I think that that the third line means: That he forgives us for everything and we should forgive everyone else. I think that the forth line means: do not get too tempted at different things.

I think that the Lord’s prayer is trying to tell us that:
“our father, who art in heaven”- means that he is our father up in heaven
“hallowed be thy name”- his name is very sacred.
“ thy kingdom come” -your kingdom is also my kingdom.
“ thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven”- we will live the life that God wanted us to on Earth and then live a good life in heaven.
“give us this day our daily bread” we are asking God to give us the food we will need for each day.
“ and forgive us our trespasses”- forgive us the sins that we have committed.
“ as we forgive those who trespass against us”- we will forgive the people who have sinned against us
“and lead us not into temptation”- help us to not sin anymore and to live a good life.
“ but deliver us from evil”- help us not to be evil people.
To me I think that, to the Catholic community, the lord’s prayer is trying to help us to forgive those who sin against us.
I also think that it means we should honor God because he gave up his only son to save us all.

This is my interpretation of The Lord’s Prayer. The first line ‘Our Father, Who art in heaven,’ is stating who the prayer is directed at (God). The second line ‘Hallow be Thy Name,’ is asking for the person reading the prayer, to be Holy. ‘Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread ‘ the person is asking for heaven to come, as what he needs to do will be done and they ask for their food. ‘And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.’ Is saying to forgive them of their wrong, so hey can forgive others. On the 7th line ‘And lead us not into temptation,’ they ask not to be tempted and finally to be taken away from all evil.
This the most important prayer to the Catholic Church. It means we need to be faithful and forgiving. All Catholic children should know this prayer. It shows we believe in Jesus and the Holy Trinity.
That is my interpretation of The Lord’s Prayer.

The Lord’s prayer
I think that The Lord’s prayer is a very important part of the catholic faith. The title”Our Father” sums up the Truth of being and says that man needs to know about God, about himself and his neighbour. “Thy kingdom come thy will be done” is saying that we need to help establish The kingdom of God on Earth. Forgive us Our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against means that he should forgive us for the bad things we have done(sins) and we will do the same. Lead us Not into temptation But deliever us from evil means that we want Jesus to not tempt us to do bad things and not to become evil. The importance of this prayer in the catholic faith is that it is talking about the trinity (god, son and holy spirit) which is very important in the catholic church. Also that it is said at every mass because it praises the Lord and covers everything in this life that we need to have eternal happiness.

I believe that the Our Father is the most important prayer in our Catholic faith. This prayer describes everything that the Catholic Church believes in. I believe that this prayer is sacred in our community as it is the Lords prayer which is what our catholic faith is all about.
The Our Father is a prayer where we say as a prayer where we believe in God. In this prayer, we are saying that we believe god is our father and that heaven exists. “Our Father, Who art in heaven”. “Hallowed be Thy Name”, this means that God is sacred. “Thy Kingdom come” means that we will go to heaven. “And forgive us our trespasses” this phrase is praying for God to forgive us. “As we forgive those who trespass against us.” This means that we should forgive people that have sinned against us. “And lead us not into temptation.” This phase is asking God to help us chose the right choices. “But deliver us from evil. Amen.” This part of the prayer is asking God to help us be good and make the right choices.

…The Lords Prayer…
Many of Jesus’ teachings are taught by and from the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus teaches by both the 10 commandments and the Lord’s Prayer. The Lord’s Prayer is important because it shows the close love and connection we have with God. It shows the praise and love we do and should show towards our father and that he is willing to repent us, forgive and forget because he loves us so much.
‘Our Father’ states the well being and the nature and character of our lord. It shows the trust and faith we have in our lord and the way we think of him as being our leader and our guide to success. It recognizes the fatherhood of god and the brotherhood of man.
‘Which art in heaven’ explains the nature and characteristics of heaven. It shows the close connection between god and his people and that he will give them an even better life with him up in heaven.
‘Hallowed be thy name’ In the bible ‘name’ means the nature and essential points of a thing and looking right back through our faith hallowed means whole, wholesome holy, healed and healed. This means this sentence is saying Holy person or something sacred along those lines.
‘Thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ This is showing that the good deeds and faithfulness towards god will be continued from heaven right through to the ends of the universe. This also shows that anything done in heaven id possible on earth’s soil.
‘Give us this day our daily bread’ This is the expectation that God will provide us with all aspects and sources that we need to live and the love and loyal that will help us get through our difficult times.
‘Forgive Us Our Trespasses As We Forgive Them That Trespass Against Us’ This is asking for God to forgive us when we sin and we will forgive who ever and whenever someone trespasses (sins against us)
‘Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil’ This is saying that god will lead us away from sin and evil so we are not caught up and tempted. It is also saying that we should avoid being tempted and turning bad by respecting, loving and obeying Gods commands.

The words in the Lords prayer mean to me:
Our father, who art in heaven- talking about God, who is in heaven
Hallowed be thy name- his name is holy and we should worship him
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven- we should pray, and if we do his will then his kingdom will come down to earth, or otherwise known the end of time.
Give us this day, our daily bread- we should go to mass as often as possible and receive Jesus.
And forgive us our trespasses- asking to be forgiven when we do wrong
As we forgive those who trespass against us- we should be forgiven because we forgive others when they do wrong to us
And lead us not into temptation- try to resist anything that is wrong and uncatholic
But deliver us from evil, Amen- keep us safe from evil like criminals
This is basically telling us that as a Christian community, we need to live a good life, like going to church often, not sinning, forgiving, and not accepting evil. It also tells us that we need to worship God, and only God. If we as Christians are faithful, we will receive his kingdom at the end of time.

The Lords Prayer
The Our Father is a prayer devote to God. It stands for all of what Christians believe in and is most likely the most common prayer in the Christian Church. “ Our Father who art in heaven.” This means that God is our Father/creator and lives in heaven watching over us. “ Hallowed be thy name.” This means sacred holy name. “Thy kingdom come.” Meaning that we will go to heaven in the afterlife. “Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Which means that his will shall be done just like in heaven. “Give us this day, our daily bread. “ Which means give us food and drink. “And forgive us our trespasses.” Meaning forgive our sins. “As we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen”
